The Middle East can be an incredibly luxurious and exciting vacation, despite what you may have read on the news. There are areas of the Middle East that are still safe for European, Canadian, and yes, even American travel. In addition, Middle Eastern hotels and resorts are some of the most luxurious in the world. Middle Eastern decadence has often been glamorized in literature and film, but it is truly something to be experienced. Of course, due to the vastness of the region, you might need some help in selecting your Middle Eastern vacation destination.
Egypt is one of the best Middle Eastern vacation destinations. It is quite safe and very safe for American travel, as there is actually an American University in the capital city of Cairo. Egypt is full of both modern and historical culture. Many may go to view the inland relics and treasures, but the Cleopatra-worthy resorts on the coast are actually some of the most opulent accommodations in the country. Guests of these resorts may enjoy striking architecture, crystal pools, tennis courts, and spas. However, visitors certainly should spend a day touring all of the ancient ruins and sights. Plenty of museums highlight Egypt’s rich history.
Be sure to consider safety when traveling to the Middle East. While the Middle East has plenty of luxurious resorts and rich history to offer tourists, there are countries and regions that should be avoided. Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Lebanon, and the Palestinian Territories are to be avoided by light skinned and non-Muslim tourists. However, plenty of areas still welcome tourism, providing five-star hotels and accommodations. Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and Turkey can be visited with relative ease. Jordan, Kuwait, Quatar, and Oman can be visited with proper security precautions. As you would when traveling to any foreign country, be sure to abide by local laws and customs.
